Online short course: Beginners guide to upcycling clothing through sewing | Discounted price for a limited time

Course price will be increasing after a limited time I have put together a short online course to show you my ways of upcycling and sewing. I have built this course focusing on practical, follow along tutorials so that you can get stuck right in and learn on the go - I truly feel as though this is the best way to learn! (No boring theory work here) This course is aimed at beginner sewists, with 2-3 hours worth of educational sewing content. The first module introduces the basics of sewing such as getting to know your sewing machine along with all of the equipment you’ll need and their uses. The course includes 4 -5 different follow along tutorials for items of clothing, each tutorial includes atleast 2-3 sewing techniques that are helpful within the garment making world which you can then use on your own future projects on completion of the course. Meaning by the end of the course not only will you be wiser, but you will have also made multiple new pieces for your wardrobe!

Summary of what you can expect:

• Learn the ins & outs of your sewing machine
• How to thread & setup your machine correctly
• Complete run down of a sewing starter kit
• Understand different needle types and their uses.
• Learn basic pattern drafting using your own items of clothing (cloning technique).
• Learn sewing terminology ie. grainline, selvedge, bias, warp/weft knits.
• Learn how to sew with stretch jersey fabric correctly.
• Learn techniques such as: lettuce hem, baby hem, shirring, inserting an elastic waistband, adding lace trim, gathering fabric.
• Learn how to insert an invisible zip.

Items of clothing that you will have the option to make include:

• Mini layered rara skirt
• Shorts with split tie bow sides
• Denim bandeau top using Jean cut offs
• Summer cami top using an old Tshirt
• Moey’s upcycled super oversized scrunchie

How does the course work?

• Once payment is completed you will receive an email with a link to access the course content.
• You will have permanent access to the course content and you can work at your own pace, there is no time limit or limit to how many times you can rewatch the course.
• This course is 95% video content. It is split into 6 modules that all contain individual lessons and each lesson contains a private link that will take you to a private unlisted YouTube video. Only you will have access to this through your link.
